After getting excited about eating local organic food and buying direct from organic farmers my partner and I did some research and found Captain’s Creek organic farm and farmer, Rod May. The farm runs a local veggie box scheme during summer and autumn, and Rod was happy to extend his run to Melbourne if we formed a group and made it a single drop off point. So a group of friends and I did it! We soon realised that to run effectively this little scheme needed more people and more than love! So the group of friends spread to the community and has now become a Member-based social enterprise. During Winter and Spring Rod stops his variety of production and we work with him and 5-7 other local and Victorian farmers and the wholesale market when necessary to continue eating great food!
