Votedwithour forks: Days 1 and 2

4th April, 2013 —

Hard to believe that we are already on day 3 of the challenge! The word for day one was ‘homemade’as we started off with hot cross buns made by my partner. Made even more lovely  by the addition of Herbies mixed spice with rose petals.

Lunch included dim sum and vietnamese inspired  suimae. Dinner was another Chinese style meal. Lap chongs and rice accompanied by homemade duck and orange peel and wilted kang kong from the garden.

Day 2 we made a quick visit to Junee, whicis southwest of Canberra. This is the home of the Junee liquorice and chocolate factory, where local wheat is turned into their stand-out liquorice. I bought two of my favourites, Junee white gold (with a thick coating of white chocolate) and some Dark chocolate coated ginger. Spelt liquorice is also available. Yummo.
